MCTS HISTORY
The history of Mobile County Training School began as far back as 1880. It is the oldest county training school in Alabama. MCTS started as a one room facility with an initial enrollment of around 60 students. For many years, MCTS was a high school composed of grade 7-12. Overtime the school, gradually expanded and saw an increase of enrollment as more African-American families sought educational opportunities for their children, renovations and additions were made in 1967 in the sixth grade was accommodated.
